The FTP password allows access to log in to konsoleH at Domain level<\/a>\u00a0as well as FTP<\/a> and SSH<\/a> access to manage your website.<\/p>\n

New hosting accounts are created with a randomised, unrecorded FTP password \u2013 this password needs to be set as a first step in managing the hosting account.<\/p>\n

For security reasons we do not keep a copy of FTP passwords, so once an FTP password has been set, you will need to keep your own record<\/strong>. Forgotten passwords can be reset in the same way.<\/p>\n

It is good practice to change your passwords regularly to prevent unauthorised access to your information.<\/p>\n

Set your FTP password in konsoleH<\/h2>\n

  1. Browse to konsoleH<\/a><\/strong> and log in <\/strong>at Admin level<\/a>\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n
  2. Select Manage Services<\/b> in the left-hand menu\"\"<\/li>\n
  3. Select Configuration ><\/strong>\u00a0FTP Users<\/b>. The Username is indicated here\u00a0\u2013 in this case “example” (Note that there may be more than one user\u00a0\u2013 each with separate usernames and password). The password is not shown.<\/li>\n
  4. \u00a0<\/b>Click\u00a0Reset Password\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n
  5. Enter your new FTP password (click Auto-generate<\/strong>\u00a0 or enter a password of your own choice)<\/li>\n
  6. Copy to clipboard<\/strong> and keep a record of the password as it will no longer be viewable once updated\u00a0\"\"<\/a><\/li>\n
  7. Click Update<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
