A Subdomain <\/b>allows you to host a separate website using your current domain name, without needing to register an additional domain name e.g. \u2018shop.my-domain.co.za<\/em>\u2019 is a subdomain of the domain \u2018my-domain.co.za<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n

A Subdomain can either be set up as<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. a hosting package<\/strong>,<\/li>\n
  2. a Parked<\/a> or Multiple domain<\/a> <\/strong>(sharing the resources of the parent domain),<\/li>\n
  3. by using DNS pointing,<\/li>\n
  4. or as a hosting package on a Managed Server<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Applicable hosting fees apply, with no domain fees.<\/p>\n

    Add a subdomain in one of the following ways:<\/h3>\n

    1. Subdomain as a Web Hosting package<\/h2>\n

    1. Browse to konsoleH<\/a><\/strong> and log in<\/strong> at Admin level<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Select NEW ORDER<\/strong> (top right)<\/li>\n
    3. Select your preferred package and hosting location<\/li>\n
    4. Click Next<\/b><\/li>\n
    5. Fill in the subdomain name you prefer (leave out www)<\/li>\n
    6. Click Next<\/b>\u00a0and follow the simple steps to complete your order<\/li>\n
    7. If the parent domain and the subdomain are not going to be hosted in the same location, i.e. South Africa or Germany, you will be required to manually create a DNS record on the DNS zone file for the parent domain, pointing to the IP address of the server on which the subdomain will be hosted. *See “Create a subdomain using DNS” below:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n

      2. Subdomain as a Parked or Multiple Domain<\/h2>\n

      1. Browse to konsoleH<\/a><\/strong> and log in<\/strong> at Admin level<\/a><\/li>\n
      2. Select or search for the domain name under which the subdomain will be created<\/li>\n
      3. Select Manage Services<\/b><\/li>\n
      4. Select Add Parked Domain<\/b>\u00a0or Add Multiple Domain<\/b><\/li>\n
      5. Fill in the Subdomain name you prefer (leave out www)<\/li>\n
      6. Click Next<\/b>\u00a0and follow the simple steps to complete your order<\/li>\n
      7.
