The <\/span>default WordPress username<\/b> is <\/span>admin. <\/span><\/i>Keeping<\/span>\u00a0this standard username makes it <\/span>easier for hackers to gain access<\/b> to your site. We <\/span>strongly recommend<\/b> that you <\/span>change your username<\/b> to a unique administrator name, making it harder for hackers to gain entry to your WordPress admin area.<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u00a0can change your WordPress\u00a0username<\/strong>\u00a0in konsoleH<\/strong> or in WordPress<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Change your WordPress username in konsoleH:<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Browse to <\/span>konsoleH <\/a><\/strong>and <\/span>log in\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>(Admin or Domain level)<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Select<\/strong> or search your domain name in the <\/span>Hosting Services<\/b> tab<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Select <\/span>Manage Services<\/b> from the left-hand menu<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Select <\/span>Manage MySQL<\/b> under <\/span>Databases

  5. Select <\/b>phpMyAdmin <\/strong><\/li>\n
  6. Click on your database name<\/strong> on the left-hand side. A list of all the tables in your database will display

  7. Select <\/span>wp_users\"\"<\/b><\/li>\n
  8. You should now see a table of all your <\/span>WordPress users<\/b>. Click <\/span>Edit<\/b> next to the Admin user entry to change the <\/span>username<\/b> for the specific administrator\"\"<\/span><\/li>\n
  9. Update the username as desired in the user_login<\/strong> field\"\"<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Select <\/span>Go<\/b> to save the changes<\/strong>.\u00a0You have now successfully changed your WordPress username<\/b><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Change your WordPress username in WordPress:<\/h2>\n

    1. Browse<\/strong> to WordPress<\/strong><\/a> and log in

    2. From the menu on the left-hand side, select Users<\/strong>. A list of all of your Users will appear<\/li>\n
    3. Usernames cannot<\/strong> be changed directly in WordPress<\/strong>. You are <\/span>required to create a new user<\/b> with a <\/span>unique<\/b> username <\/span>to replace the default<\/b> admin user. Select <\/span>Add<\/b> New<\/b>

    4. Complete the required fields and ensure you are using a strong password<\/strong>.\u00a0 From the Role<\/strong> dropdown menu, select\u00a0Administrator

    6. As\u00a0you are logged in as the default admin user, you will need to\u00a0log out of WordPress. L<\/strong>og into WordPress <\/strong>again, this time with your new <\/strong>username and password (the unique user you have just created)<\/li>\n
    7. Once logged in, select\u00a0Users<\/strong>\u00a0on the left-hand side to view all users.\u00a0Select Delete<\/strong>\u00a0under the default admin user

    8. A deletion confirmation screen will appear. Before proceeding, ensure<\/strong>\u00a0 the radio button that reads\u00a0Attribute all content to <\/strong>has been selected.\u00a0From the dropdown menu select<\/strong> the newly created username
