A service record<\/b> (SRV record) is used in DNS to define the location, i.e. the hostname and port number of servers for certain services<\/b>. Certain Internet protocols, for example, the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP), often require SRV support to function correctly.<\/p>\n

You may add an SRV record<\/strong> via the Manage DNS<\/a><\/strong> tool in konsoleH<\/strong> by following the below steps:<\/p>\n

    1. Browse to konsoleH<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and log in<\/strong> at Admin level<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n
    2. Select or search for a domain name in the Hosting Services<\/b>\u00a0tab<\/li>\n
    3. Select Manage Services<\/b>\u00a0from the left-hand menu<\/li>\n
    4. Select Domains<\/strong> >Manage DNS

      \n<\/b><\/li>\n
    5. The DNS tool will open, displaying all the current DNS records for the domain.<\/li>\n
    6. Click on <\/span>Advanced View\"\"<\/b><\/li>\n
    7. Scroll to the bottom of the DNS Zone File and start in a new line<\/span>

    8. Start by adding the service name (<\/span>_autodiscover<\/i><\/b>) and then the protocol name (<\/span>._tcp<\/i><\/b>)<\/span><\/li>\n
    9. After adding the service and protocol name, you will add <\/span>IN SRV<\/i><\/b><\/li>\n
    10. Add the weight (0<\/em><\/strong>), priority (<\/span>100<\/i><\/b>)<\/span>\u00a0and port (<\/span>443<\/i><\/b>) the record will be connecting on<\/span><\/li>\n
    11. End the line by adding the destination and ending it with a full stop (e.g., <\/span>mailconfig.konsoleh.co.za.<\/i><\/b>)<\/span>
