{"id":42419,"date":"2024-10-02T14:50:04","date_gmt":"2024-10-02T12:50:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/xneelo.co.za\/help-centre\/?p=42419"},"modified":"2026-01-30T10:33:46","modified_gmt":"2026-01-30T08:33:46","slug":"how-to-point-your-website-to-wix","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/xneelo.co.za\/help-centre\/domains\/how-to-point-your-website-to-wix\/","title":{"rendered":"How to point your website to Wix via konsoleH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Domains registered with us can have their website hosted with Wix while keeping domain administration and email services with xneelo.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The DNS is easily updated via konsoleH.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are 2 methods to <\/span><b>connect your domain to a Wix website<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A. <\/span><b>\u00a0DNS Pointing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (recommended, as this keeps domain and email services with xneelo), or<\/span><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>B.<\/span><b>\u00a0 Update name servers<\/b><span> to Wix (not recommended as you may lose mail services such as Webmail)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A. Setup DNS Pointing to Wix<\/span><\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wix.com\/support\/html5\/article\/domain-pointing-records\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Access the required Wix records for your domain<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Browse to <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/secure.konsoleh.co.za\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>konsoleH<\/b><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and <\/span><b>log in<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/xneelo.co.za\/help-centre\/accounts-and-payments\/konsoleh-access-levels\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Admin level<\/b><\/a><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Select the domain name.<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><span>Choose <\/span><b>Manage Services<\/b><span>, then<\/span><b> Manage<\/b><span> DNS. Note: <\/span><i><span>If you don\u2019t see <\/span><\/i><b><i>Manage DNS <\/i><\/b><i><span>then you are logged in at Domain level rather than Admin level.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li>Change the relevant\u00a0<b>A- and Cname-records<\/b><span>\u00a0<\/span>using the Wix details from Step 1. as follows:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Hostname @:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li>Under\u00a0<b>A<\/b> records, find the<b> @ <\/b>record and change the <strong>Destination<\/strong> value IP to the IP provided by WIX (e.g. 23.236.62.147)<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Update<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b><strong>Hostname www<\/strong>:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Delete the <\/span><b>A <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">record type <\/span><b>www<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by clicking <strong>Remove<\/strong> alongside the www hostname<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"2\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Create a new record by clicking <\/span><b>Add Record<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><strong>Hostname<\/strong>: Insert www<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><strong>Record type<\/strong>: Select CNAME from the drop-down list<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\"><strong>Destination<\/strong>: P<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">rovide the URL (e.g. www223.wixdns.net.)\u00a0 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Note the fullstop after URL<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"2\">Click <strong>Add<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Hostname M:<\/b>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Add another record as above, but with <\/span><b>Host<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> M <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leave all other records as they are.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Allow 2 &#8211; 4 hours for the update to take effect.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">B. Change Name Servers to Wix<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This option gives <\/span><b>Wix control over your DNS for website and email<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Name servers cannot be updated via konsoleH but can be <a href=\"https:\/\/xneelo.co.za\/help-centre\/domains\/update-name-servers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">updated via the xneelo Control Panel.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We don\u2019t recommend this option, as changes to your name servers mean you will lose the ability to make use of our services for that domain, such as webmail.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We will remain responsible for the domain name administration and will continue to bill you for <\/span><b>domain name charges<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> e.g. yearly domain renewal fees &amp; your <\/span><b>hosting package<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you have email services linked to your domain name with xneelo, you will need to <\/span><b>point the mail records back to us via your Wix control panel<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
