This guide takes you step-by-step through the process of setting up a new email account in\u00a0Outlook Express<\/span><\/p>\n

Note<\/em>: This guide defaults to IMAP<\/a> and No SSL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Replace your-domain.com<\/em>\u00a0with your domain name<\/p>\n

Add a new email account<\/h3>\n

1. Launch Microsoft Outlook Express
\nNote<\/b>: If this is the first email account setup on this computer then skip to Step 4.
\n2. On the menu bar at the top, select Tools<\/b> and then click Accounts<\/b><\/p>\n

Create new account<\/h3>\n

3. Click Add<\/b>, and then click Mail<\/b> to open the Internet Connection Wizard.<\/p>\n

Mail Account Setup<\/h3>\n

4. Enter your name<\/b> (which will appear the “From” field in your emails), then click Next<\/b><\/p>\n

5. Enter your email address<\/b>, then click Next<\/b><\/p>\n

Server Settings<\/h3>\n

6. Select “POP3<\/b>” as the incoming server type.
\n7. Enter the POP and SMTP server information<\/b>, then click Next<\/b><\/p>\n

Server Authentication<\/h3>\n

8. Click Finish<\/b>
\n9. You will be returned to the Internet Accounts<\/b> screen. Select the recently created email account (pop.your-domain.com), click Properties<\/b> and then proceed to the Server<\/b> tab.
\n10. Ensure that the “My server requires authentication<\/b>” checkbox is ticked and proceed to the Advanced<\/b> tab<\/p>\n

11. Ensure that the Outgoing Mail<\/b> port is set to 587 and the Incoming Mail port<\/b> is set to 110
\n12. Click OK<\/b><\/p>\n
