Network topology in xneelo Cloud
The topology is a visual map of your network architecture. It shows how your networks, routers, and instances are connected, helping you understand your overall setup and manage traffic flows.
Read on to learn more about the topology view, when to use it, and more.

What is network topology?
Network topology is the logical structure of networks, subnets, routers, and instances in your Cloud project, showing how they connect and how traffic flows.
The Network Topology page provides a visual, interactive view of all networking components in your project, including:
- Networks – Public or private networks your resources connect to.
- Routers – Connect private networks to each other or to the public network.
- Instances – Virtual servers attached to networks through interfaces.
- Ports – The connection points linking instances and routers to networks.
- Floating IPs – Public IP addresses assigned to instances for internet access.
Each component is displayed as a node, with connecting lines showing how traffic moves through your architecture.
-
When to use the topology view
You can use the topology view to understand how your cloud resources are connected and how traffic flows across your project. It is especially useful for:
- Understanding your network architecture at a glance.
- Confirming that networks, routers, and interfaces are configured correctly.
- Validating routing paths between private networks and the public network.
- Seeing whether an instance is exposed to the internet.
- Troubleshooting connectivity (for example, why two instances cannot reach each other).
- Planning or adjusting your Private Networking setup.
The topology view is a high-level visual guide and does not show security group rules, application level networking, or traffic metrics.

View your network topology
Steps
-
1In the Cloud dashboard, go to Network > Network Topology.
-
2The Topology tab will be selected by default.
-
3Use Small or Normal to adjust the visual layout spacing.
-
4Hover over any network, router, instance, or Floating IP to view details such as IP addresses, ports, and attached resources.
-
-
View network topology graph
The Graph tab shows all network resources in a structured table instead of a visual map. You can use this view when you need more detail or when your project contains many resources.
This view is also helpful to quickly locate a specific resource in large environments.Steps
-
1On the Network Topology page, select the Graph tab.
-
2View resources grouped into networks, routers, instances, and ports.
-
3Select any item to view its details or navigate to its management page.
-
-
Actions available from network topology
You can create and manage networking resources directly from the Network Topology page.
These shortcuts make it easy to build out or adjust your networking setup visually.
From this view, you can:
- Launch Instance – Create a new instance and attach it to a selected network.
- Create Network – Add a new private network and subnet.
- Create Router – Connect networks or provide routing to the public network.
