What is a registrar?

A domain name registrar is a company that manages the reservation of certain top-level domain names. They act as third-party providers, facilitating the registration and management of domain names on behalf of individuals and organisations.

A domain name registrar must be accredited by a generic top-level domain (gTLD) registry such as ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) to register domain names for the public.

We currently work with OpenSRS (Tucows) to process all domain name registrations. This registration is subject to the terms of the registrar.

Additionally we are an accredited domain name Registrar specifically for co.za domain extensions, as licensed by UniForum SA, the ZA Registry Consortium.
