Lisa du Toit, the owner of Urban Wines, had been in the wine industry for nine years when she decided to tap into her entrepreneurial spirit and start her own bistro. Urban Wines was born in May 2016: a space to eat, drink, shop and experience wine – and coffee – of the highest quality. Every Wednesday and Friday they have wine tasting between 4 and 7 pm, there’s space to drink a bottle of wine with friends over cheese and charcuterie, and if you taste something you like, you can buy a case to take home.
An urban space for wine lovers
Set in the heart of Durbanville, it’s an urban space for wine lovers to unite. “Urban Wines has been a dream come true for me,” Lisa explains. “I had a dream to create a space where people are inspired by what they experience, where friendships are made along with great memories through the experience of damn good wine and coffee.”
An invitation to an experience
As the only establishment in Cape Town that offers wine retail and restaurant space in the same establishment, Urban Wines was sure to be different from the start. But what really sets them apart is the atmosphere when you visit. Not into wine? Book a beer, spirits or coffee tasting!
