Why am I being prompted for a strong password when I create or update a mailbox password?
Customers who have used weak passwords for example, ‘password’ or ‘12345’, have allowed spammers to easily guess their password.
The unauthorised access is then used it to send unsolicited emails that could lead to the blacklisting of a customer’s account. This not only tarnishes the reputation of the customer and their business but also xneelo’s reputation.
The control panel assists customers by enforcing strong passwords on mailbox creation or when changing an existing password. These measures have been put in place to protect your online assets.
A strong password requires the following:
- 14 characters or more
- at least one numerical character
- at least one alphabetical character
- passwords cannot contain the mailbox name
- passwords cannot contain spaces
- may not contain the word ‘password’
