How to limit the maximum size of email messages you receive

Limiting the size of incoming emails can be beneficial for various reasons, including conserving storage space.

Follow the steps below to set up a size limit for email messages.

Steps

    Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.

    Select a Product from the side menu.
  • 3
    Search for and select the domain name.
  • 4
    Under Mail tools, select Mail Admin.
  • 5
    The Mail Admin page displays all mailboxes and aliases for your domain. Webmaster is the default mailbox for new hosting accounts and can be deleted if not required.

    Click on the 3 dots menu in line with the relevant mailbox.
  • 7
    Select Incoming email size limit to limit the maximum size of email messages you receive.

    Choose a Size limit from the drop-down list.
  • 9
    Click Save.

What happens next

Any attempt to accept an email bigger than the message size limit on a mailbox will fail and the email will bounce back to the sender. The traffic generated by this email will still contribute to your traffic usage regardless of the fact that the email bounced.
