Can anyone register an domain name?

Yes. Any individual or organisation may register an domain, not only non-profit organisations as was previously the case.

The general public may order any new domain name on a “first-come, first-served” basis depending on availability. Check for domain availability using our domain name search.

There is a fee associated with all new registrations and an annual renewal fee will also apply. Refer to our domain pricing on our Domain registration page.

The domain name space moved from Internet Solutions (IS) to ZA Registry Consortium (ZARC) on 1 August 2014.
