Which domain extension should I use?
Choosing the right domain extension for your website is an important decision and one that resonates with your target audience and fits your brand identity.
Important factors that influence your choice are availability, location and preference.
- Availability: Popular domain extensions often have fewer available names to choose from due to demand. A domain search will help you to find available domains. Once you have decided on your domain name, register it as soon as possible as registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Location: If your target market is international then an international domain extension will probably be better suited for your domain. If your target market is specific to a country or area, then a country or city domain extension would work best.
- Preference: Should several options be available, then it will be a matter of personal preference. You may also register your domain name with various domain extensions to prevent others from registering them.

Hosting Only
To register a domain extension not provided by xneelo, you would need to register it yourself at the registry that offers the registration of that extension.
First order your hosting package with xneelo before you register the domain at the external registrar, as DNS information is required at the time of domain creation.
Choose the hosting package of your choice, and during the online ordering process, choose the Hosting Only option. Refer to our guide on How to Create a Hosting Only account setup, and where to find the DNS information that you will need.
