How are xneelo customers impacted by the IPv4 exhaustion?
An increase in our Colocation and Self-Managed product range has resulted in the need for acquiring additional IPv4 addresses. While there is a slow adoption rate of IPv6 in South Africa, we’re taking measures to ensure the extended availability of IPv4 address space for our customers.
As a result, we’ve reduced the size of our default IPv4 subnet allocation on new Colocation orders. Colocation customers will receive a /28 IPv4 subnet (13 usable IPs) for a Full Rack and a /29 IPv4 subnet (five usable IPs) for a Half Rack.
To ensure that our current IPv4 resources are well managed, we will no longer be offering large subnets. Current/existing subnets will not be affected by these changes.
- If you require additional IPv4 address space, we can provide you with a /28 and /29 subnet, at an additional monthly cost. Please contact us for further information.
- If you require larger IPv4 ranges, we recommend that you acquire your own IPv4 address space and we will assist you with setting up BGP sessions.
