What happens when I exceed my Volume Plan disk space quota?
The cost of the Volume Plan will increase based on the total amount of disk space you use. Pricing is cumulative, meaning each tier is charged in full as your usage exceeds its threshold.
| Tier | Disk space quota | Volume Plan SA price | Volume Plan DE price |
| Tier 1 | Up to 75 GB | R699 | R750 |
| Tier 2 | 76 – 200 GB | +R600 | +R640 |
| Tier 3 | 201 – 500 GB | +R600 | +R660 |
| Tier 4 | 501 – 1100 GB | +R300 | +R300 |
Note: The prices listed for Tier 2 – 4 are in addition to the previous tiers.
If your monthly disk usage exceeds 1100 GB, any additional usage will be charged at R10 per GB.
Example:
If you have a Volume Plan SA and use 76 GB in a month, you’ll be charged:
- R699 (Tier 1)
- +R600 (Tier 2)
= R1299 total
If you use 250 GB in a month:
- R699 (Tier 1)
- +R600 (Tier 2)
- +R600 (Tier 3)
= R1899 total
The quota displayed in your Control Panel will show 75GB, which is the starting disk usage allowance. If your usage exceeds this, over-usage charges will apply based on your applicable tier.
