RMM access – latest Java version security changes
The latest version of Java will need to be installed on the machine the RMM is being accessed from. Following Java 8, Update 20, the Medium security level has been removed from the Java Control Panel. This means that you will be presented with the following error when trying to launch the console via the Remote Control Tab:
You can launch your Java Control Panel via the Windows system tray or command javaws -viewer on Linux.
- Select the Security tab
- Select Edit Site List and add the RMM IP address on https as illustrated below:
- You will now be able to accept the risk of running the application when launching via the JNLP file to launch the Intel BMC web console successfully
