When Luanne Mc Callum started Interlink in 1998, she knew that she wanted to create a private English school focused on quality education and exceptional customer service. She didn’t know how much of an impact her school would have on its students. With no more than 12 students per class, Luanne believes that high levels of personal attention ensure her students reach their goals. Making English accessible
The school itself holds accreditations with Quality English, Education South Africa, LanguageCourseSL (Customer Service Excellence Award) and Cape Town Tourism, and offers a range of English courses, including social English, business English, both general and intensive courses, and private one-on-one classes.
Its location in Sea Point, in the heart of Cape Town, is another big selling point. Surrounded by the Atlantic Seaboard, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill, and only 10 minutes away from the City Bowl, Interlink promises that, “you can tick off all your Cape Town bucket-list items while improving your English skills at Interlink.”
Everyday English
Another feature of Interlink is that they offer accommodation with host families so that students can stay with a local family while learning English. 70% of their South African host families are within 20 minutes’ walk of the school, so it’s a convenient way for students to immerse themselves in the language – and the culture – and learn about everyday life in South Africa.
All of this information is shared with potential students all over the world via their website. “Our website does everything for our company: all our clients are international so this is how they find out about us,” says Luanne. Interlink.co.za has been hosted with xneelo since it started in 1999, when Luanne saw a web hosting ad in an IT magazine.
