What is the maximum email message size?
Our servers allow messages of up to 30MB to be sent or received, however, many ISPs or mail programmes have a lower limit, which will restrict your effective mail message size.
Sharing messages of over 10MB is not recommended, as mail is not an efficient means of sharing large documents.
Rather, make use of platforms such as Dropbox, which allow you to easily upload large documents and then simply forward a download link to the recipient.
To restrict the maximum size of mails that you receive, you can set a message size limit per mailbox on your domain via your control panel.
Encoding increases the size of emails and attachments. While Webmail supports a total message size of 30 MB, we recommend limiting attachments to around 20 MB to allow for the additional size introduced by encoding.
