Private Networks (backlinks) for Self-Managed Servers

A Private Network (backlink) enables secure, direct communication between two or more of your xneelo Self-Managed servers, isolated from the public-facing network.

Private Network is commonly used to:

  • Securely transfer data between servers
  • Connect application and database servers
  • Perform backups
  • Run internal services over a private network
  • Route traffic through a firewall to protect other servers

  • Available configuration options

    1 Gbps:

    • The first Private Network utilises the onboard 1 Gbps network interface controller (NIC)
    • Additional Private Networks require a 1 Gbps network interface controller (NIC) add-in card (AIC)
    • Limited to 3 per server

    10 Gbps:

    • Only supported on our TruServ Commerce models
    • Each Private Network requires a 10 Gbps network interface controller (NIC) add-in card (AIC)
    • Limited to 1 per server

A once-off setup fee applies per server being configured. When adding a server to an existing Private Network, the setup fee applies only to the newly added server.

    Please note:

    1. Servers can only be connected to the same Private Network if they are hosted on the same customer account.

    2. A Private Network connection between servers is available only via the privately configured IP address range assigned to their network interface controllers (NICs).

    3. To ensure traffic is properly routed between servers on the same Private Network, use IP addresses within the same private subnet.

    4. Our 10 Gbps Private Network offering is limited and currently supported only on our TruServ Commerce models.
