ionCube

The ionCube Loader is a tool used for executing pre-compiled PHP code and can be used to help prevent reverse engineering and accelerate your PHP code. In order to make use of the ionCube Loader for PHP, your code must have been pre-compiled using the ionCube PHP Encoder.

The advantage of pre-compiled code means that the code has already been processed and is no longer human-readable. The PHP code will also execute faster since it has already been pre-compiled.

Many web applications (such as Content Management Systems) that can be purchased online may be pre-compiled using ionCube PHP Encoder or with similar tools to prevent reverse engineering or tampering of the PHP code.

IonCube is enabled by default on all xneelo managed hosting product offerings. 

Customers are however advised that while xneelo makes every effort to provide seamless integration with your website files and the ionCube loader, we have noticed a pattern of slow adoption for newer versions of PHP from ionCube as well as a lack of transparency on timelines for compatibility of new versions of PHP.

This uncertainty makes it hard for us to keep our platform running on supported versions of PHP without negatively impacting customer sites.

As such, we cannot guarantee the ongoing compatibility of ionCube encoded files.
