How to attach a volume to a Cloud instance
Note: This article relates to a product currently in beta testing.
A volume is a detachable block storage device that can be attached to an instance to provide extra storage space, much like connecting a USB drive. You can detach a volume from one instance and reattach it to another instance, without losing the data stored on the volume.
Steps
-
1Log in to your xneelo Cloud dashboard.
-
2Using the menu on the left, navigate to Compute > Instances.
-
3On the right-hand side of the list of instances, click on the dropdown button in the Actions column.
-
4Select Attach Volume.
-
5In the pop-up window, click on Select a Volume and select the volume from the drop-down list that you want to attach to the instance.
-
6Click on Attach Volume to attach the selected volume to the instance.
What happens next
To make the volume usable on your instance you will need to mount a file system to the new volume.
A limit of 26 volumes can be attached to a single instance.
