How to set up two-factor authentication in konsoleH

| Two-factor authentication (2FA) became mandatory for all konsoleH users on 15 May 2024. |
Enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) is mandatory on your konsoleH account and helps keep it safe if your password is compromised.
This security measure adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second verification step when logging in, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorised access. 2FA can be set up using SMS, your email address or an app.
Important: If multiple users need access to the same account, you are required to use the App-based 2FA method. Ensure that each device scans the same QR code or enters the text code provided.

Set up 2FA using SMS
SMS is recommended if you are an individual user and do not share access to your account with multiple users.
Steps

2A Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) pop-up will be visible.

3Scroll down to select SMS as your preferred method. Click on Use SMS.

4Select Send SMS and a verification code will be sent to the mobile number that is listed on your account.

5Enter your 8-digit verification code in the field provided in the screen prompt.

6Select Submit.

7Congratulations! Your two-factor authentication has been successfully configured.

Set up 2FA using your email

2A Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) pop-up will be visible.

3Scroll down to select Email as your preferred method. Click on Use Email.

4Select Send email and a verification code will be sent to your account owner’s email address.

5Enter your 8-digit verification code in the field provided in the screen prompt.

6Select Submit.

7Congratulations! Your two-factor authentication has been successfully configured.

Set up 2FA using an app
An app (Google Authenticator or Twilio Authy) is recommended if you share access to your account with multiple users.
Note: If you reset your 2FA in konsoleH, please remove all codes generated by the app before rescanning the QR code.
Steps

2A Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) pop-up will be visible.

3Scroll down to select App as your preferred method. Click on Use App.

4Install one of the following applications on your Mobile Device: Google Authenticator or Twilio Authy

5You can scan a QR code with the app OR enter the text code from the screen prompt into the app to enable two-factor authentication. Please be cautious when using unapproved apps to scan QR codes.
Note: Provide this code to others who will need to access the account on Admin-level so that they may generate their one-time code. To add users and share credentials at a later stage, please follow the instructions on the respective app’s page: Google Authenticator or Twilio Authy -
6The application will then provide you with a one-time code.

7Enter the one-time code from the app into field 3 “Log in with your code” and click Submit.

8Congratulations! Your two-factor authentication has been successfully configured.

After successfully logging into your account using 2FA, the login session will be valid for a period of 30 days. During this time, you won’t need to provide the second factor of authentication to access your account.
Each time you log into your account from a different browser, IP or Operating System within the 30-day window, you will be prompted to enter your 2FA code again.
