Ensure a smooth domain transfer

Give it time

Make sure it’s been 7+ days for cCTLDs and 60+ days for gTLDs since registration or the last transfer took place.

Get your domain ready

The domain must be registered with a registrar and ready for transfer.

Be prepared

If you want to transfer a gTLD, ensure that your domain has been unlocked by your current registrant and not on hold.

Get your code

Have your authorisation code ready, also sometimes referred to as an EPP or transfer code.

Know your email

You’ll need access to the current Registrant email for cCTLDS, or the new Registrant email for gTLDs.

Frequently asked questions

Transfers usually take 5 to 12 days. However, this depends on how quickly the current domain registrant responds to your transfer request.

You are able to transfer any of the domain extensions we offer. Should we not offer the domain extension you are looking for you can order a hosting only package and point your domain to your website.

If you’re transferring a cCTLD, the current registrant will receive the transfer request. If you’re transferring a gTLD, we will receive the transfer request. If you’re unsure, the current registrar will be able to confirm which contact will receive the request.

Ensure that you are the contact listed to receive the transfer request – you can check this in your hosting provider’s control panel or contact your current registrar. Also remember to check your spam folder.
