How to add a user in Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and AlmaLinux

This article provides step-by-step instructions for adding a user in Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, and AlmaLinux.
Note: The article focuses solely on the process of creating a new user account and does not cover advanced user privilege configurations.
2Switch to the root user:
3Run the following command to add the user:
Replace username with the desired username for your new user (exclude any spaces or special characters). The (-m) flag creates the user's home directory.
adduser -m username
4Next, set the user’s password by running the following command:
Replace username with the user you created in the previous step. You will be prompted to enter and confirm a password for the new user. Follow the instructions on the screen.
What happens next
You will now be able to connect to the instance using the Console in the xneelo Cloud dashboard.
