Create and manage a database via the xneelo Control Panel

The information in this article is related to the new xneelo Control Panel.
If you are still using konsoleH, refer to this article.

We offer MariaDB databases on all Basic web hosting packages or higher. MariaDB is equivalent to MySQL, so it will usually be referred to as MySQL.

The Manage MySQL tool allows you to create, manage and delete databases and also provides access to the phpMyAdmin database administration tool.


  • Access the database tool

    1. Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.
    2. Select a Product from the side menu.
    3. Click on the domain name.
    4. Under Hosting tools, select Manage MySQLThe Manage MySQL tool shows you a list of your databases. These are databases currently created on your domain. If no databases exist, only the database quota will be visible. You are able to delete, reset passwords and add databases easily.
    5. Follow the relevant directions below to create, delete, manage or reset the password for the database.





  • Create a new database

    1. Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.
    2. Select a Product from the side menu.
    3. Click on the domain name.
    4. Under Hosting tools, select Manage MySQL.
    5. To create a new database, select + Add database.
    6. Complete the fields required and click Add.
    7. Your database has been added. You are presented with details of the database you added.  You can copy these details by clicking the copy icon on the right.

    Note: Make a note of these details as the password will not be recorded.





  • Delete an existing database

    1. Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.
    2. Select a Product from the side menu.
    3. Click on the domain name.
    4. Under Hosting tools, select Manage MySQL.
    5. Click on the three dots menu to the right of the relevant database.
    6. Select Delete.
    7. Click Delete again to confirm.

    Note: This action will permanently delete the database so make sure it is the right one. We are not able to restore it once it is deleted.





  • Reset Password of an existing database

    1. Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.
    2. Select a Product from the side menu.
    3. Click on the domain name.
    4. Under Hosting tools, select Manage MySQL.
    5. Select the database name.
    6. Click Reset password.
    7. Enter a new password in the field provided or click on Generate password.
    8. Select Reset.

    Note: Make a note of these details as the password will not be recorded.





  • Manage an existing database via phpMyAdmin

    1. Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.
    2. Select a Product from the side menu.
    3. Click on the domain name.
    4. Under Hosting tools, select Manage MySQL.
    5. Click on the three dots menu to the right of the relevant database.
    6. Select phpMyAdmin.
    7. The phpMyAdmin database management software will open in a new window or tab in your browser.



Assist Note

You are allowed 5 databases and your quota is clearly displayed. 

Assist Tip

Database names are in the format sql32.jnb2.host-h.net, where cpt and jnb in the server name refer to South Africa and nur or flk refer to Germany.
