How to add an SRV record via the xneelo Control Panel
If you are still using konsoleH, refer to this article.
A service record (SRV record) is used in DNS to define the location, i.e. the hostname and port number of servers for certain services. Certain Internet protocols, for example, the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP), often require SRV support to function correctly.
Steps
-
1Log in to the xneelo Control Panel.
-
2Select a Product from the side bar.
-
3Select the domain name.
-
4Select Manage DNS under Domain tools.
-
5Click + Add record.
-
6Choose SRV from the Type drop-down. Complete the Host and Target fields and select Add.
-
7To update an existing SRV record, click on the 3 dots menu to the right of the SRV record and click Edit.
-
8Make the required changes by clicking in a field to edit. Note the full stop after the Target.
-
9Click Save.
What happens next
Once you have added or changed the required DNS records, please allow 2 to 24 hours for DNS propagation to complete.
You are also able to Import a custom zone file, similar to the advanced view available in the classic manage DNS tool.
