How to add an SRV record via the xneelo Control Panel

The information in this article is related to the new xneelo Control Panel.
If you are still using konsoleH, refer to this article.

A service record (SRV record) is used in DNS to define the location, i.e. the hostname and port number of servers for certain services. Certain Internet protocols, for example, the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP), often require SRV support to function correctly.

Steps

  • 1
  • 2
Select a Product from the side bar.
  • 3
    Select the domain name.
  • 4
Select Manage DNS under Domain tools.
  • 5
    Click + Add record.
  • 6
Choose SRV from the Type drop-down. Complete the Host and Target fields and select Add.

To update an existing SRV record, click on the 3 dots menu to the right of the SRV record and click Edit.
  • 8
Make the required changes by clicking in a field to edit. Note the full stop after the Target.
  • 9
